What is a 'Location'?

In the AirTouch Beam app, a location often referred to as "Home" in this knowledge base, is a central concept that helps organize your settings and automate various features. Locations enable geofencing, accurate time zone settings, weather features, and more.

What is a Location?

A location refers to the address or place where your AirTouch Beam system is installed. It plays a critical role in enabling various smart features:

  • Geofencing: Automates actions based on your proximity to the location (e.g., turning off the AC when you leave home).

  • Time Zone Settings: Ensures the correct local time for scheduling programs and activities.

  • Weather Features: Provides location-based weather information, useful for adjusting your system’s settings accordingly.

You can create multiple locations, join locations created by other users, or share your location with others for collaborative control.

Location Ownership and Sharing

  • Location Owner: The person who creates a location is considered the Location Owner. The owner has control over the location and can invite others to join it.

  • Joining and Sharing Locations: Only the Location Owner can send invitations to others to join a location. Once joined, users can control devices within that location, but ownership remains with the creator.

  • Device Assignment: Devices added to a location belong to the Location Owner, even if other users control them.
