Installing or specifying an ITS as an AC switch
If you're an installer, builder or designer, an ITS set up as an AC switch gives your client a simple, familiar control with no extra wiring or cable runs through walls.
Location. Mount it where it's naturally reached on the way in and out of the living area, at light-switch height. Keep it away from direct sun, supply air outlets, kitchens and other heat sources so it reads the room accurately.
More than one switch. You can add switches in other spots, such as the main bedroom or near the entry. AirTouch 5 supports up to 32 ITS per system.
Retrofits and finished walls. No cable runs are needed, so it suits renovations and concrete or masonry walls where chasing is difficult.
Consistent across a building. Put the same switch in the same place in every apartment. It keeps the specification simple and gives every resident a familiar control.
Plan it early. Note the ITS as an AC switch on the plans, so it's set up at commissioning. It needs an AirTouch 5 system.
