AirTouch Beam Glossary, Abbreviations and Acronyms

This glossary explains common terms, abbreviations, and acronyms used in the AirTouch Beam system. It is intended to help users better understand the features and processes associated with the product.

AT AirTouch
Soft AP Software-enabled Access Point. Enables the AirTouch Beam app to connect or tether to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot. This is used during setup to send Wi-Fi credentials to the device.
Matter A universal smart home standard that allows devices from different brands to work together seamlessly.
Device Refers to the physical AirTouch Beam unit unless stated otherwise.
App Refers to the AirTouch Beam mobile application installed on your smartphone, used to access and control device features.
Onboarding The process of adding a device to a location within the app.
Commissioning The process of adding the device to a smart home hub when using the Matter protocol.
Favourite A feature that lets you save a preferred AC configuration. You can create multiple favourites across devices and apply them with one tap.
Program A feature for scheduling your AC to turn on or off at specific times. You can define start and end times, and customize commands.
Geofencing A location-based feature that allows Beam to perform actions (e.g., turn AC on/off) based on your location relative to a defined area like home or office.
Timer A feature that lets you set a countdown to turn the AC on or off. When the AC is on, it can be set to turn off after a set duration, and vice versa.
Comfort Sense A feature that adjusts or turns off the AC automatically based on temperature, humidity, or “feels like” readings to help save energy. It uses sensor data to determine comfort levels.
Filter A feature that monitors the status of your AC filter and may provide reminders to clean or replace it.
Insights A feature that provides data on AC usage, energy consumption, and other usage patterns to help manage your AC more effectively.
Sync AC A function that synchronizes the app with the current state of the AC unit. Useful if settings were changed via the AC remote to ensure the app matches the actual device state.
