AirTouch 5: Common Asked Questions

This guide provides answers to frequently asked questions from both installers and end users regarding AirTouch 5 systems, including setup, connectivity, hardware compatibility, and troubleshooting tips.

Access & Passwords

1. What is the password to access installer settings?

Installer access credentials are not publicly available. Please contact Polyaire Support or your authorised distributor for assistance.

2. I forgot the screen lock password on AirTouch 5. What should I do?

You can perform a factory reset of the console:

  • Press and hold the power button to force shutdown.

  • Press and hold Power + Volume Up for approximately 20 seconds to open the Android recovery menu.

  • Use volume keys to navigate to Wipe Data – Factory Reset, then press power to confirm.

This will reset the Android console only. Your AirTouch settings will remain intact.

3. How do I set a screen lock password on the console?

Swipe to the Android home screen, then go to:

Settings > Security > Screen Lock to set a PIN, password, or pattern.

Connectivity Issues

1. Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting on the console.

  • AirTouch 2+ & AirTouch 4:

    • Connect only to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

    • Ensure band steering is disabled on your router.

  • AirTouch 5:

    • Restart the console (hold power button).

    • Disconnect and reconnect the controller.

    • If the issue persists, contact a service technician to arrange an SD card software update or console replacement.

2. AirTouch 5 app isn’t loading and returns to Android screen.

This indicates a communication error between the console and the main control module.

Check and reseat the RJ12 cable between the two units.

3. Error: “Communication Timeout – Check Cable”

Inspect and firmly reseat the RJ12 cable connecting the console to the main module.

Console & Display Issues

1. AirTouch 5 console screen is blank.

Check the following:

  • Console power supply is connected.

  • AC circuit breaker is ON.

  • Wall isolation switches are ON.

2. Console not responding to touch.

  • If under warranty: Request a replacement.

  • If out of warranty: A new console can be purchased.

Air Conditioning & Zoning

1. Just installed 3 A/C units, but one is not showing on the console.

  • Confirm wiring is correct.

  • Check DIP switch settings on all gateways.

  • If unresolved, escalate to a service technician.

2. Fault code FFFF appears after install.

This is a communication error between the AC indoor unit and the AirTouch gateway.

3. Other fault codes appear (not FFFF or FFFE).

These are typically air conditioner-specific errors.
Check the fault code against the AC manufacturer’s guide. In most cases, the issue should be resolved by the AC installer or manufacturer.

Sensors & Wireless Devices

1. All ITS sensors have disconnected.

Most common cause: Power outage or electrical surge.

Steps to resolve:

  • Turn off the main control module using the AC circuit breaker or isolation switch.

  • Wait at least 1 minute, then power back on.

  • ITS sensors should reconnect automatically within a few minutes.

  • If not, follow this guide: Pairing ITS Sensors

2. Can I connect wired zone temperature sensors to AirTouch 5?

No. AirTouch 5 supports only wireless Intelligent Temperature Sensors (ITS).

3. Can I use AirTouch 4 sensors with AirTouch 5?

Not officially supported. For best performance, use sensors specifically designed for AirTouch 5.

Hardware Compatibility & Installation

1. What cable is required to connect gateways to the main module?

Use an RS485 cable, which is supplied by Polyaire.

2. Are existing damper motors compatible with AirTouch?

Yes, if they meet all of the following:

  • Operate on 24V AC

  • Use RJ12 connectors

  • Run at a speed between 0.01 – 2.5 RPM

3. Will third-party zone dampers work with AirTouch?

Yes, provided they meet the same compatibility criteria listed above.

4. Are AirTouch transformers polarity-sensitive?

No. The 24V secondary winding is not polarity sensitive.

5. Can I act as a warranty agent for AirTouch?

Installers can:

  • Replace faulty components.

  • Return them for credit, refund, or replacement.

Note: Installers cannot charge Polyaire for their time.
Alternatively, submit the online warranty request form to book a service technician.
